Who is Dr. Diaz

Dr. Diaz is the founder of Reduce. She is a Puerto Rican woman originally from the Bronx, NY. Having moved to Massachusetts to pursue her doctoral degree in psychology, she now focuses her work on increasing individuals access to and utilization of mental health care services. Dr. Diaz has experience working with clients across the lifespan and providing them with pointed answers to their clinical/educational questions.

Dr. Diaz has the following degrees from the following Institutions: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Siena College in Loudonville, NY Master’s degree in Experimental Psychology from St. John’s University in Jamaica, NY Master’s degree in Professional Psychology from William James College in Newton, MA. Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from William James College in Newton, MA

She has trained in a myriad of health settings ranging from residential, partial hospitalization, educational, community mental health, and medical. Across her training a priority has been arming all of her clients with thorough and tangible knowledge about their mental health concerns. She believes that this knowledge helps people to be in control of their own lives and achieve whatever personal goals they have. She has specialized training in working with children and families through her work in the Boston school system conducting psychoeducational assessments and helping families navigate Individualized Education Plans (IEP’s). She has also conducted assessments with adults to answer such questions as: cognitive functioning, attentional concerns, readiness for bariatric surgery, diagnostic clarity, and more. Dr. Diaz takes an individualistic approach to assessment where she prioritize answering patients questions and supplying recommendations which are realistic and practical.

Training and Experiences

Dr. Diaz founded Reduce to help support children, adolescents, young adults and families in achieving all of the important life goals they have. Life is full of unexpected surprises and challenges, our goal is to Reduce the unknown about internal capabilities, learning styles, personality types, mental health diagnoses, etc. to prepare you to deal with whatever life hands you!

At it’s core Reduces’ mission is to arm individuals with essential knowledge about themselves, their mental health, community resources, and healthy coping skills to live a meaningful life. To that end, we conduct tailored psychological assessments aimed at answering a myriad of questions and provide comprehensive reports which include individually tailored recommendations.

In addition to her role as founder of Reduce with Dr. Diaz, Dr. Diaz is also finising up her Post-Doctoral Fellowship through the Center for Multicultural Training Program at Boston University and will begin a new role as a clinical psychologist and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Boston University Chobanian and Avedisian School Of Medicine in December of 2023. She will be providing clinical care and supervision to trainees across clinics within Boston Medical Center: Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) Team in the Pediatric Primary Care clinic and The SPARK Center. In her work at the pediatric primary care clinic, she is working to develop an assessment service as part of the IBH services already being provided.
